The Rules
This is a fest run to raise awareness of mental health issues. Please handle the subject matter in a sensitive and respectful manner.
General Rules
• Prompts and submissions must contain one or more main character(s) with a mental health issue. This must be an important and central part of the story or art. Possible mental disorders include, but are not limited to: Anxiety disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders, addiction, personality disorders, memory problems, trauma, etc. Fictional/magical disorders are acceptable, too.
• The works created for this fest don’t have to be angsty. They can be, though. All genres are welcome.
• Works containing gen, het, slash and femslash are all welcome.
• Some works of fiction and art in this community may only be suitable for adults. Those who are not of age should not read or create any works that are rated NC-17.
Prompting
• You can leave as many prompts as you want to.
• You are welcome to leave prompts if you do not plan on claiming any, and vice versa.
Claiming
• Each prompt can be claimed once for fic, and once for art.
• Once you’ve submitted your first entry, you’re welcome to claim a second (or third, or fourth...) prompt.
• If you don’t see a prompt that inspires you, you’re welcome to work with a prompt of your own. However, you still need to sign up by commenting on the claiming post.
Submissions
• The goal of this fest is to raise awareness. Because of that, it's important to portray the topic of mental health issues in a realistic and respectful manner. Please do your research.
• All stories should be a minimum of 1000 words.
• All submissions must be beta read.
• All work should be original to this fest, and must not be a part of a series or a sequel. It should not be posted anywhere else prior to reveals.
• Please use the header provided here
• Make sure all relevant HTML coding is included in your final submission.
* Please submit your fics either by Google Docs or .txt. Right now, those are the only two word processing programs I have.
• Send your finished submissions to lrthunder82 AT gmail DOT com. Make sure you add the provided header, and put your LJ username and the title of your work in the subject line. If you don’t get a reply within about three days, that probably meant something went wrong. If this should occur, please send lrthunder a PM.
• If RL gets in the way and you have to drop out or need an extension, just ask. It’s fine, and much better than just disappearing.
Contact
For questions or anything else, just send an email to lrthunder82 AT gmail Dot com.
Mind you, this is a different address than you might find in old posts. This is the only correct one. If you do not receive a reply within five days, something most likely went wrong. In that case, send a PM to lrthunder.

Claiming: 7 February-14 February
First check in: 7 March
Second check in: 7 April
Third and final check in/extension request/drop-out notification: 7 May
